Women Photograph War Exhibition – Interview with Arad Nir on Channel 12

Women Photograph War: Telling the Story to Give Hope

Shuli Cohen, one of the participants in the Women Photograph War exhibition on display at Eden 51 in Kibbutz Dorot, joined Adi Weiss, Director of Content at the Eden Association, for an interview with Arad Nir during a special Channel 12 news broadcast. Together, they discussed the importance of the project.

For Shuli, who experienced a difficult childhood as an at-risk teenage girl, this project is a mission: to show girls facing similar circumstances that there is hope and that challenges can be overcome. “This is a life mission I have taken upon myself,” she says.

Since her close friend Rinat Even and Rinat’s family were murdered in Be’eri on October 7, Shuli has carried with her something Rinat once told her: “Tell your story—not to show that you succeeded, but to tell these women that they can succeed too.”

These words became a mantra for Shuli and guided the deeply personal and moving work she created with photographer and curator Alicia Shahaf. The work seeks to preserve the feelings and voices of women on the home front—women whose voices are rarely heard, yet who are an integral part of the struggle and the hope.
