בית ספר ייחודי בו כולן נשים – התלמידות והצוות
Eden School is located at Kibbutz Karmia. Throughout the week, the girls from Eden Therapeutic Boarding School come here not only to study, but also to grow and develop. The school’s educational philosophy is reflected in a quote by Maya Angelou displayed at the entrance:

“People may forget what you said or what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel.”

The school was established more than a decade ago specifically for the girls of Eden Therapeutic Boarding School. It embodies Eden Association’s feminist approach and follows the principles of the Eden Model, adapted to the school environment:

  1. Placing each girl at the center as the starting point of the educational process.
  2. Creating a safe space that encourages the development and expansion of abilities and interests.
  3. Maintaining routine and clear boundaries as a stable foundation.
  4. Defining and striving toward clear, individualized goals.

At the heart of every school activity is a deep understanding that the purpose of education is to recognize and develop the self-helping girls gain a deeper understanding of themselves and expand their capabilities. This is a pedagogy of a “personal journey” in all its dimensions. Each girl possesses the greatest knowledge about herself and has the ability to shape her life and transform her reality when she becomes the driving force behind her own change.

The school is a joint initiative of Eden Association and the Ministry of Education’s HILA Program for at-risk youth. HILA’s dedicated teaching staff combine a therapeutic orientation with a high level of professional expertise, alongside close guidance that recognizes and responds to the girls’ diverse needs.

The school follows an integrative, girl-centered model. Based on each girl’s evolving abilities and core aspirations, an individualized program is developed to strengthen her skills and sense of competence across three areas simultaneously, integrating emotional development, intellectual learning, and practical experience:

Learning

Education at our school is rooted in the understanding that every girl wants to build a life worth living – and that academic achievement offers tangible recognition that she is worthy and capable.

Alongside the core curriculum, students can pursue advanced five-unit studies in mathematics and English, as well as an additional five-unit track in geography or our new and growing photography program. The school also offers a range of vocational courses.

Dialogue

Each school day begins in the classroom with a ten-minute “Good Morning” session. This time allows the staff to check that everyone is present and identify who may need encouragement, a hug, or validation of the challenges she is facing. It also creates a sense of order and clarity at the start of the day.

In addition, every class holds a weekly homeroom session addressing important, relevant, and timely issues. Each girl also has dedicated time for individual conversations with her homeroom teacher.

Enrichment

The school has a dedicated enrichment room where art, photography, writing, and fitness workshops are held alongside the regular curriculum. The workshops take place in small groups, and the girls choose which ones to attend according to their personal interests and desire to explore, develop, and gain new experiences.

These activities offer opportunities to discover new fields, take a restorative break, and process pain and difficulty. As part of the HILA Program’s skills curriculum, the girls also participate in courses such as styling, makeup, and therapeutic horseback riding.

The school team is proud that 100% of its graduates complete 12 years of schooling, and approximately 90% earn a full or partial Israeli matriculation certificate.

Eden School is truly one of a kind. Both its students and staff are women, creating a sense of sisterhood expressed through mutual respect and a genuine commitment to change – a change that begins here and is happening now.
