Over the years of the association's work, we have met girls, young women, and women from all walks of life, and we have seen how the encounter with Eden can awaken inspiration and a desire for change in every woman. The women we met testified that they would want the skills that our girls receive for themselves, the critical thought-provoking conversation they would want to create with their daughters, and the sense of sisterhood they experienced during the meeting they would want to experience on a regular basis.
We learned that we are unique in our feasible and practical model for working in a therapeutic setting, and that this model is relevant and suitable for educational settings, individual therapy, organizations, and in fact any setting that aspires to lead its beneficiaries towards a process of personal and social change.
This was the beginning of the vision for the establishment of the Eden 51 Center. The center's main goal is the promotion and encouragement of gender equality from within a personal process, which combines learning about social constructs on gender issues, challenging existing perceptions, learning about feminist practice, and providing practical tools for creating change at both the individual and community levels. Another goal that stands before us is the dissemination of the professional knowledge we have accumulated in the field of trauma treatment in girls and women.
The Eden 51 Center for Gender Equality, run by the Eden Association, operates programs, workshops, seminars, and a boutique conference center in Kibbutz Dorot. The center's various programs offer practical life skills, understanding of personal and social barriers, and help in processes of change and development in personal and vocational life.
