This exhibition is part of October 7th HerStory project, which focuses on the testimonies of women from the Defence Forces who served on October 7 and throughout the Swords of Ironwar.                                                                                        The exhibition presents a woven network of words and visuals that translates voices, scents, and sensations from the battlefield into artistic form. It is about women who carried weapons and with the same hands caressed the wounded and the dead. Women who endured hell, acting with determination and courage—side by side with their brothers-in-arms. Amazons of flesh and blood.

Here, the testimonies of these women are projected as a rare documentary record—firsthand accounts that pierce the heart with stories from both the battlefield and the life that follows. Inspired by these testimonies, nine women artists created works that engage with gender, feminism, social and national identity, as well as personal narratives, while examining this historical moment as a formative event. Among the representations are the image of the woman warrior, the tension between gender identity and the military ethos, equality and the burden of proof, fragility and strength, trauma and testimony as healing.

A selection of testimonies from the project:

History is being written in these very moments, and we must ensure that the voices of women are heard and remembered forever.
